daniel p. cusack

Daniel P. Cusack is a lifelong resident of Peoria, Illinois. He earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History from St. Ambrose College in 1971. He then received his Master of Social Work Degree from Howard University in May, 1974. Dan continued his education at Howard University from which he received a Law Degree in 1977. Dan was admitted to the Bar later that year.

Dan concentrates his practice in personal injury, worker’s compensation, and medical malpractice.

In August 2005, he successfully tried a case for his client in which the defense had made no offer to settle. In that case, Dan received one of the highest verdicts in the history of Peoria County in the amount of $1.7 Million.

In August 2006, he presented another non-offer case to a jury in Peoria County for a client who suffered from soft tissue injuries as a result of an automobile accident. Again, Dan received a verdict that was one of the highest in the history of the County of Peoria for purely soft tissue injuries.

Dan holds memberships in the Peoria County Bar Association, Illinois State Bar Association, and American Bar Association. He also maintains memberships in the Illinois Trial Lawyers and American Trial Lawyers Associations. Dan is listed in the Illinois Leading Lawyers publication.

 

Dan was honored to be chosen as the Professional of the Year by the Peoria Chapter of the Illinois Head Injury Association in 1997. He currently serves as an Advisor to the Peoria Chapter of the Brain Injury Group (BIG).

Since 1997, Dan has organized and been a featured speaker at annual seminars to medical professionals. He also has lectured for the Law and Economic Section of the Illinois Bar Association, and several non-profit organizations.

 

Dan has two sons. His oldest, Shaun, graduated from Western Michigan University, Thomas Cooley Law School in Michigan and is an associate with the firm. His younger son, Colin, works for the Pearl Companies.
