Longtime public defender named as 10th Circuit associate judge

A longtime public defender will become the 10th Judicial Circuit's newest associate judge.

Last week, the circuit judges voted and selected Timothy J. Cusack to fill a vacancy created when Associate Judge Kate Gorman was elected to be a circuit judge.

Cusack received his undergraduate degree in 1984 from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wis. and his law degree from Northern Illinois Univeristy in 1989. He has previously worked for the Peoria County State's Attorney office and for the past decade or so, been a public defender.
